CME-Certified Symposium
This activity is presented by Physicians’ Education Resource in conjunction with Loyola University.
The 7th Annual The Best of San Antonio: Breast Cancer—Bench to Bedside symposium will highlight the latest advances in the fight against breast cancer unveiled at the 2009 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. This program will feature a diverse panel of internationally recognized breast cancer experts who will provide a candid and critical review of the clinically important abstracts. Dr. Kathy Albain, the Program Director, together with the outstanding faculty will highlight the more promising advances in treatment for early-stage and advanced/metastatic breast cancer, including hormonal, cytotoxic, and biologic approaches as well as prognostic and predictive assays. Translational science, including molecular and receptor biology, and pathology research that impact ongoing and future studies will also be discussed. In addition, advances in surgery, radiation therapy, and risk reduction will be presented.
This dynamic half-day symposium is designed to meet the educational objectives of all breast cancer specialties and is intended to guide participants from the laboratory to the general health care setting—from “Bench to Bedside.” The goal of this program is to have each participant leave with a new awareness of the innovative strategies available across the wide spectrum of breast cancer research, treatment, and prevention and to apply these strategies directly to the practice setting.
This educational program is directed toward medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists interested in the treatment of patients with breast cancer. Fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, researchers, and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of breast cancer are also invited to attend. At the conclusion of this symposium, you should be able to:
