Overview and Purpose
The Duke Debates: Controversies in the Management of Hematologic Malignancies symposium is designed to provide updates on recent advances in and new data on the treatment and management of lymphoma, myeloma, and leukemia. Practical issues, current standards, and controversies in the management of these diseases will be discussed in debates, didactic lectures, and interactive case-based panel presentations. By linking a base of evidence from key clinical trials and authoritative guidelines to case-based applications and discussion of controversial issues, this activity will provide the participant with the tools to optimize decision making in order to improve patient outcomes.
Target Audience
This educational program is directed toward medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists; nurse practitioners; nurses; and pharmacists interested in the treatment of patients with hematologic malignancies. Fellows, physician assistants, researchers, and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of hematologic malignancies are also invited to attend.
