This activity is presented by Physicians’ Education Resource in conjunction with Duke University Division of Cellular Therapy and Duke Oncology Network.

The Duke Debates: Controversies in the Management of Hematologic Malignancies symposium is designed to provide medical oncologists, hematologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other health care professionals with practical updates on recent advances and controversies in the management of hematologic malignancies.

This educational program is directed toward medical oncologists and hematologists interested in the treatment of patients with hematologic malignancies. Fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, researchers, and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of hematologic malignancies are also invited to attend.

At the conclusion of this symposium, you should be able to:

  • Apply appropriate risk stratification measures to devise individualized treatment plans for patients with newly diagnosed leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma
  • Outline standard treatment options for patients with relapsed/refractory leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma
  • Evaluate the safety and efficacy of recent clinical advances in the management of patients with relapsed/refractory leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma
  • Debate the potential role of emerging novel agents for the treatment of patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma
  • Recommend appropriate up-front or salvage hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for eligible patients with hematologic malignancies
