This activity is presented by Physicians’ Education Resource in conjunction with Oncology Today.

Join us for an interactive CME-certified dinner meeting that will focus on the most up-to-date information on the practical applications of therapeutic strategies to improve the treatment and management of patients with head and neck cancers in the community practice setting.

Overview and Purpose
This activity will feature both a community-based and academic cancer expert reviewing the latest updates in the treatment and management of head and neck cancers. Discussions will focus on the immediate clinical integration of these treatments into the community setting where many cancer patients are treated. Participants will take away practical information to assist them in delivering the most effective evidence-based clinical strategies to their patients.

Target Audience
This educational program is directed toward medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists interested in the treatment of patients with head and neck cancer. Fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, researchers, and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of head and neck cancer are also invited to attend.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, you should be able to:

  • Evaluate differential treatment outcomes to therapy in patients with HPV-positive tumors
  • Assess the potential of molecular markers to predict response to therapy in head and neck cancer
  • Describe the efficacy and safety of induction regimens in locally advanced disease
  • Discuss clinical data on incorporating EGFR inhibitors into combined modality therapy
  • Describe the efficacy and safety of EGFR inhibitors in metastatic disease
  • Discuss clinical data on antiangiogenic agents and other novel targeted agents in head and neck cancer
  • Apply data from clinical trials to determine the optimal course of therapy in defined patient populations
