Lecture Overview
Rapid Reviews in Oncology: Emerging Options in the Treatment of Breast Cancer is a series of CME-designated conferences that focus on cutting-edge clinical updates on the management of patients with breast cancer. The series, which is intended for practicing community oncologists, includes didactic lectures followed by an interactive discussion of cases and clinical questions with the faculty of nationally recognized thought leaders.
These conferences are nationally broadcast programs designed to simultaneously update oncologists on current and late-breaking data delivered via satellite to an audience of oncologists through a network of private dining rooms located in restaurants throughout the country. The meetings will feature interactive participation with each site, including live questions beamed in from locations throughout the network.
This educational program is directed toward medical oncologists, including fellows in training, involved in the treatment of patients with breast cancers. Oncology nurses, oncology physician assistants, and pharmacists who are interested in the treatment of cancer are also invited to attend.
Upon completion of this educational activity, you should be able to:
- Evaluate the activity of epothilones, alternative taxane formulations, and other novel microtubule-targeting agents, alone or in combination regimens, in patients with relapsed/refractory metastatic breast cancer
- Assess the efficacy and safety of antiangiogenic therapies with taxanes in newly diagnosed metastatic breast cancer
- Discuss antiangiogenic agents undergoing clinical investigation in metastatic breast cancer
- Evaluate current data on the efficacy and safety of nonanthracycline regimens in the adjuvant treatment of breast cancer
