Lecture Overview

The Emerging Trends in Oncology: Hematologic Malignancies activity is an on-demand webcast  representing  the most highly-rated live presentations from a series of 1-day seminars designed to present practicing medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists; hematologists; nurses; and other clinicians with a synthesis of key data presented at the 2008 major national oncology conferences. This activity has been designed to update physicians on recent advances and new treatment modalities in the management of hematologic malignancies. Online publication provides availability of key data to locoregional practicing physicians by leading faculty who present recommendations about clinical challenges faced in the daily management of patients with hematologic malignancies.

This educational activity is intended for medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists; hematologists; and fellows practicing in the community or academic institutions. Nurses, physician assistants, and other individuals interested in the treatment of hematologic malignancies are also invited to participate.

Hematologic Malignancies

  • Assess the potential clinical utility of novel targeted therapies in the treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphoma
  • Describe current data on proteasome inhibitors and immunomodulatory agents in the treatment of multiple myeloma
  • Identify novel targeted agents in the treatment of acute leukemias
