Lecture Overview

The Emerging Trends in Oncology: Breast & Genitourinary Cancers activity is an on-demand webcast  representing  the most highly-rated live presentations from a series of 1-day seminars designed to present practicing medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists; hematologists; nurses; and other clinicians with a synthesis of key data presented at the 2008 major national oncology conferences. This activity has been designed to update physicians on recent advances and new treatment modalities in the management of breast and genitourinary malignancies. Online publication provides availability of key data to locoregional practicing physicians by leading faculty who present recommendations about clinical challenges faced in the daily management of patients with breast and genitourinary cancers.

This educational activity is intended for medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists; hematologists; and fellows practicing in the community or academic institutions. Nurses, physician assistants, and other individuals interested in the treatment of breast and genitourinary cancers are also invited to participate.

Breast Cancer

  • Discuss recent updates from adjuvant endocrine trials as well as related substudies
  • Assess the most recent data on HER2-targeted agents and angiogenesis inhibitors in the treatment of breast cancer

Genitourinary Malignancies

  • Assess the efficacy and safety of antiangiogenic agents, multitargeted kinase inhibitors, and mTOR inhibitors in renal cell carcinoma
