Lecture Overview

The Emerging Trends in Oncology: Lung Cancer & Novel Agents activity is an on-demand webcast  representing  the most highly-rated live presentations from a series of 1-day seminars designed to present practicing medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists; hematologists; nurses; and other clinicians with a synthesis of key data presented at the 2008 major national oncology conferences. This activity has been designed to update physicians on recent advances and new treatment modalities in the management of thoracic malignancies and novel agents. Online publication provides availability of key data to locoregional practicing physicians by leading faculty who present recommendations about clinical challenges faced in the daily management of patients with thoracic malignancies as well as notable novel agents.

This educational activity is intended for medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists; hematologists; and fellows practicing in the community or academic institutions. Nurses, physician assistants, and other individuals interested in the treatment of lung cancer are also invited to participate.

Lung Cancer

  • Analyze recent data on cytotoxic and targeted approaches, including antiangiogenic and anti-EGFR agents, to lung cancer therapy
  • Discuss clinical outcomes with doublet chemotherapy compared to doublet chemotherapy followed by consolidation with a third cytotoxic agent
  • Evaluate the role of antiangiogenic agents in treating recurrent glioblastoma
