The Education Manger position is responsible for designing needs assessment studies, synthesizing data from various sources and producing reports for Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities including live meetings, newsletters and other media. Needs Assessment:
Assist in the design of data collection instruments (surveys, interview guides) and help implement methodologies for conducting needs assessments (ie focus groups, KOL interview, surveys, etc.)
Ø Implement and analyze data from needs studies (surveys, interviews, focus groups) and develop reports of key findings using qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Ø Synthesize data from various sources (course evaluations, SOIA, expert opinion, literature reviews, practice guidelines, government and specialty society reports) to keep tumor-specific needs assessment inventories up to date.
Ø Incorporate needs data into grant proposal template components (needs statements, attachments) and keep these up-to-date.

Outcomes Studies and Analysis
Ø Perform statistical analysis on pre/post test results (other level 4 studies) using SPSS and create reports of findings. Extract data that are relevant for needs assessment and add these data to the relevant needs inventory.
Ø Gather, synthesize data from open ended questions of onsite evaluation reports as relates to needs.
Ø Contribute to the evaluation of meetings and enduring materials as needed; i.e., review/revise instruments, create on-line instruments, and write reports
Ø Develop reports for supporters, regulatory agencies and PER staff as needed

Ability to research literature, write reviews, synthesize and evaluate data
Healthcare knowledge/experience
Testing and measurement basics
Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis preferred.
SPSS experience preferred.

Individual will be responsible for generating and maintaining 8-10M dollars of PER business related to new and existing product lines. Position may be based outside of Dallas, Texas and will require extensive travel. There will be an expectation that this individual will create new revenue streams and maintain a working knowledge of pertinent CME and oncology related marketplace issues and maintain relationships with select key opinion leaders. This individual must establish and maintain a working knowledge of Pharma Guidelines, ACCME standards and OIG guidance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

*Work closely with Vice President of Business Development and other business development colleagues to brainstorm new ideas, prospect new clients, develop new relationships and client customer service.
*Proposal preparation including coordination of all components and final edits
*Preparation of client contact reports and executive summaries of key activities
*Project management and coordination of multi-functional team consisting of meeting planners, medical, graphics and other related areas.
*Report and/or resolve client related issues.
*Establish relationships with opinion leaders and other individuals, in the U.S. and Abroad.
*Build relationships with key decision makers in US grant offices within Pharmaceutical/Biotech companies.
*Meet revenue goals as assigned by VP Business Development.

REQUIREMENTS
*College degree in marketing or business, or equivalent work experience.
*Minimum five (5) years experience in oncology relates sales/marketing. ( Home office experience at Pharmaceutical Manufacturer is strongly preferred)
*Working knowledge of the Oncology marketplace and familiarity with guidelines related to ACCME, Pharma Code and OIG report.

REQUIRED:

PREFERRED:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

*Build the long-term journal brands in their respective medical oncology fields.
*Developing and improving the content of CIG Media Groups portfolio of peer-reviewed, tumor-specific medical journals, supplements and special issues in close cooperation with external partners and internal stakeholders;
*Maintaining and expanding an international network of authors, editors and reviewers through regular phone meetings, key campus visits and attendance of targeted conferences;
*Acquire high quality content for regular journal issues, CME supplements and targeted special issues;
*Manage and improve the peer-review process of external content and ensure timely submission of non-peer-reviewed content from internal and external stakeholders;
*Prepare annual/long-term journal development plans identifying opportunities for growth/improvement and detailing action plans for getting there;
*Improve the volume and quality of the manuscripts submitted to and published in the CIG journals;
*Manage & prepare annual editorial board meetings and editorial reports (incl key publication metrics by journal);
*Improve impact factors and inclusion in key indexing platforms such as PubMed and Thomson ISI;
*Manage, update and improve peer-review platform in collaboration with external vendor where applicable;
*Prepare and sign off on lines of content for journal issues;
*Work with CIG production staff on publication schedules and timeframes;
*Supervise day-to-day activities of Editorial Office and Editorial Assistant;

EXPERIENCE:

*5-7 years scholarly publishing experience
*Experience in medical field highly desired
